Informatica appoints Sonata as distributor

Bangalore:  Informatica Corporation has announced the appointment of
Sonata Information Technology Limited (SITL) as its national distributor for
India. The appointment is in line with Informatica's plans to address the
growing demand for data integration solutions from enterprises and SMB/SMEs in
India.

Informatica and Sonata will jointly market special schemes, specifically
designed for the Indian market - such as the data integration pack for the SMB
segment, starter pack for IT companies, easy-access Solutions pack for AS/400
and proprietary systems' customers, ERP and legacy retirement data migration
solution pack - which are being rolled out at the moment.

According to Ramendra Mandal, Country Manager, Informatica India. "We
are now teaming with Sonata not only to address this rising demand but also
further our reach by leveraging the company's unmatched market presence and
longstanding customer relationships across India.

Initially, Informatica and Sonata will focus on opportunities for leveraging
Informatica's data integration solutions in the telecommunications, financial,
manufacturing and governmental markets.

"SITL has tied up with Informatica to provide data integration software
and services to enterprises in India. We hope to give our customers high end
integration software features and quality software services", said Mohan
Muthuraj, Head - Product Marketing Group, Sonata Information Technology Limited.

With about 600 channel partners across India, Sonata currently serves around
1000 customers comprising large enterprises, corporate and SME's.
