Aiming to increase its visibility in the Indian market, US-based provider of enterprise data integration software and services, Informatica, is looking forward to partnering with premier Indian educational institutions.
“India is an exiting place for us. We already have our presence in terms of having a 150 people strong R&D center based at Bangalore. Now we are working towards increasing our visibility in this market. As part of this initiative, we would soon be partnering with educational institutes like the IITs in order to provide them our products, so that students can use them in software labs,” informed, Paul J Hoffman, Executive VP, Informatica.
At present, the company is engaged in talks with a couple of national educational institutes and is looking at helping them get a better understanding of topics like data integration, data migration and data fragmentation.
“We have 25 customers in the Indian region, which has great potential for our company. So as we move ahead, more and more of our partners will be working with increasing number of customers for us. In a scenario like this, it would be ideal for us, and our partners, to have a large number of people already understanding the core technology behind our products. The idea is to help the student community understand what the market needs,” he added.
With its focus towards enterprise data integration and product offerings like PowerCenter and PowerExchange - Informatica has a go-to-market strategy involving around 30 big and small system integrators in the Indian region like Satyam, Wipro and Infosys. “All these system integrators play a vital role in terms of delivering the solution to our end customers,” he adds on.
