Ingram Micro India is renewing its focus on its Vesta brand. The company is expanding its Vesta product line and has recently
introduced inverters and business card scanners. It will also bring cabinets and graphics cards to
the market shortly. Vesta will have five new products in the market by December 2004.
"We are making conscious efforts to build the Vesta brand and product line expansion is our key initiative. "Worldwide, Vesta is being sold. But we
want to make it more successful as an Indian brand as well," says Ingram Micro India's Product Sales Manager, S
Manoj.
The company is increasing its regional distributors (volume partners) in the country from 80 to 150, in the next couple of months. " The western region
would get a major focus as the company wants to make its presence felt there. We are increasing our regional distributors from seven to 25 in the
west for wider reach," adds Manoj saying that Vesta is doing well in north, east and south. Presently, the company reaches over 2,000 channel partners
in 300-plus cities and towns across the country through its 32 locations.Â
According to Manoj, Vesta is more popular in B- and C-class markets. Today, Vesta offers gaming devices, UPS,
keyboards, mouse, business card scanner and inverters through channel market and supplies motherboards for OEM
clients only. "We have a mix of both volume and niche products. And the new
products that are coming in will have a touch-feel aspect targeted towards end-customers," says
Manoj.
Talking about inverters, he notes, "It is a huge market worth over Rs 1,000 crore and not many organized brands are in theÂ
space. We want to tap this opportunity. A national brand like us can play a larger role in this
business." The company offers wide range of inverters starting from 550VA to 2KVA.
The company is also strengthening its support and service across the 24 locations, besides enhancing its web initiatives for
effective and quicker reach to the channel.
