Intel Corporation has introduced four processors for mobile
PCs. According to the company, the enhanced capabilities of these processors
will enable end-users to enjoy great mobile performance and extended battery
life in thin and light notebooks.
Intel’s new offerings are the low voltage Pentium M
processor at 1.30 GHz, the ultra-low voltage Pentium M processor at 1.10 GHz,
the Celeron M processor at 1.40 GHz and the ultra-low voltage Celeron M
processor at 900 MHz.
All four processors are based on Intel’s micro-architecture
designed specifically for mobile computing and built using the company’s
0.13-micron manufacturing technology.
The low voltage Pentium M processor at 1.30 GHz (0.13 micron,
400 MHz bus) having a 1 MB power managed L2 cache is priced at $284. The
ultra-low voltage Pentium M processor at 1.10 GHz (0.13 micron, 400 MHz bus)
having a 1 MB power managed L2 cache is priced at $262.
The Intel Celeron M processor at 1.40 GHz (0.13 micron, 400
MHz bus) and having a 512 KB power managed L2 cache is priced at $132. The ultra
low Voltage Intel Celeron M processor at 900 MHz (0.13 micron, 400 MHz bus)
having a 512 KB power managed L2 cache is priced at $161.
