Tell us about your organisation's work in the software segment and how this tech is evolving

Arnab Mitra - The public cloud space is still nascent and it's only filled with global mega businesses. The world however is opening up where Gen Z is seeking customised solutions, democratic solutions and not companies with policies to use their PII for marketing purposes and monetisation. DigiBoxx is unique in these aspects. Our service is ad free, clean, simple, secure and stores the data in datacentres located in India. We have constantly updated the offering while keeping the plans highly affordable.

We are also constantly innovating to improve the user experience. Earlier this year, we partnered with Jio wherein all Jio set-top boxes allowed its users to save their photos to DigiBoxx via the Jio Photos app. Recently, we also added a DigiFotos feature that automatically backs up media from the user’s Android smartphone to his or her cloud account.

DigiBoxx is revolutionising this sector by providing an indigenous and highly scalable SaaS product that caters to casual users and gig workers (freelancers) as a reliable cloud storage service, while also serving the needs of SMBs and enterprises as an efficient digital asset management platform.

I think the fact is that we are continuously listening to people and bringing services for them basis what they want is what shows how committed we are to the product offering.

What is the geographical expanse of your customers in India, across metro and non-metro regions?

Arnab Mitra - Within six months of its launch, DigiBoxx had a million people registering on its platform. The numbers have doubled now when it comes to registration and a million customers are currently using DigiBoxx on a daily basis. Since our Android App launch in December 2021, we are seeing a significant usage of our product. We are expecting to bring our iOS app next year, followed by the desktop app to widen the platform support and improve the experience. Considering the success of the Android app, we are extremely confident that in the next 12 to 18 months our numbers will quadruple.

We are currently operating datacentres at Noida, Mumbai and Indore. Some of our engineers are based in Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad too. We would also want to go to Bhubhaneshwar, though we have identified these six engineering hubs for the moment. We have recently opened a development centre in Kolkata.

What is the adoption graph of your offerings by the smaller businesses?

Arnab Mitra - When I looked at the businesses that are currently thriving in the country, I noticed that there isn’t much available for the MSMEs in the country in terms of digital services. Typically, these businesses are low on margin but are very stable because the organisations are run by entrepreneurs. As an entrepreneur myself, I felt compelled to build DigiBoxx – a cloud-based storage solution that would be pocket friendly and be able to provide businesses with a platform they can use to manage their digital assets securely.

Going ahead, our main focus is continue to be the MSME segment, though we have a lot of customers who are also large organisations.
