What is your experience in the EduTech sector in different countries? In which continents have you worked and what are the differences in client expectations and consumer behavior in these countries?

Manoj Chawla - TriByte, established in 2010, is a Bangalore headquartered company. We provide a White-labelled LMS platform to our clients, who are predominantly based in India. However, the learners served by our clients are spread across 25+ countries across 4 continents viz: Asia, Africa, Europe, and America.

While the learning pedagogy remains the same, each geography has specific requirements from LMS portals and content to be in a local language, as that is the key to effective learning. Also, the legal and regulatory requirements, especially regarding data privacy, are different in each country. Additionally, certain countries have mandated that the Servers (on which the LMS Software is maintained) need to be based in their own country as well.

How does your experience in different countries compare with your experience in India, especially with renowned institutions?

Manoj Chawla - Internationally, TriByte has taken the route of working through Affiliates based in that region, as they have a better understanding of the geography, the opportunities, the relationships, and nuances of local business requirements. Interestingly, almost 90% of the technical needs out of an LMS, across institutions, are the same, with some bit of customizations to meet the administrative/regulatory requirements.

Now with the institutions opening up, what is the relevance of EduTech in India and in foreign countries where you are working?

Manoj Chawla - The Covid pandemic has removed all doubts about the need for Online learning. It is here to stay.  The shackles have been broken.

What needs to be seen is the manner in which various age groups and demographics leverage the technology and to what extent. It's an interesting phrase that has now begun where Stability-with-Scale and Multi-lingual capabilities of technology will play an important role in growth.

What are the challenges in this field? How do you resolve them?

Manoj Chawla - Clearly, the opportunity is huge, but so are the challenges.  Providing highly scalable and stable services across geographies is fundamental.  Moreover, being able to provide a personalized and interactive learning environment; with AI chatbots, voice-to-action, SDK integrations, etc. to ease the engagement process for such regional consumers has become customary. The ‘3Vs’: Voice, Video, and Vernacular, have become essential to the way learners interact with the internet, and TriByte is keeping pace with these changes.
