What are some of the features of your strategic partnership with Oracle?

Thompson - 3i Infotech is excited to launch NuRe cloud, a suite of cloud offerings that cater to a range of organisations with varying requirements. The three cloud platforms that include NuRe 3i, NuRe 3i+ and NuRe Edge powered by Oracle are designed to run anywhere, that are highly optimised and deliver end-to-end security respectively, thereby helping customers excel in their digital transformation journey. The combination of NuRe cloud platforms on Oracle Cloud will provide enterprise and cloud networking delivered as-a-service consumption, elastic scale up and scale down, with end-to-end security, performance, visibility and governance.

In our quest to address every conceivable market and customer need, we have come out with customized cloud offering instead of the one-size-fits-all approach that we often see. We have partnered with Oracle to take the enterprise-grade cloud offering to enterprise customers with almost zero overhead and deliver world-class customer experience. By 2025 more than half the data will be processed at the Edge and 90% by 2030. This means Edge availability and Edge security will be the most important factor and we will ensure there will be seamless cloud federation between the Edge/Cloud with complete security.

How do these products empower micro-datacentres?

Thompson - With the advent of 5G, the last mile connectivity would be a key challenge as will be the data deluge that promises to grow manifold. The global economy will push the deployment of edge related technologies by leveraging synergies with ongoing fiber and 5G rollouts as well as local presence of telco operators and data centers.  The 5G-enabled NuRe Edge cloud platforms will accelerate decision making into a service, by deploying micro data centers, managing and securing with a seamless experience at the edge.

Why are micro-datacentres important in today's times?

Thompson - As many companies embrace remote work due to the pandemic, moving to micro data centers at the edge during these times lowers costs. While supporting IoT and 5G, it is highly mobile and can reduce latency. It provides the same components as traditional data centers but can be deployed locally near the data source. Customers seek simplicity, efficiency and faster deployment time, Micro data centers will just help achieve that, as they can be installed both privately (at the Edge customer location) and as shared infrastructure (at the Edge customer city), including for cloud providers, telcos and other edge platform providers.

What kind of organisations will benefit from these cloud solutions? Are these solutions primarily meant for large enterprises or can the MSMEs also find them feasible to use?

Thompson - NuRe 3i, which is cloud with an edge, is positioned to be an economic cloud offering with premium and optimised features from 3i Infotech for all types of end customers, whether it’s micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs), small and medium-sized business (SMBs), early enterprise adopters or startups who wish to go digital. It is for customers who need the benefits of premium cloud without having to move to it, while still being able to reap the cost benefit as well as gain security, optimization etc., to their environment from a digital perspective. It can be deployed across verticals which include - banking, financial & insurance services (BFSI), telco, public and government sectors, healthcare, media, and entertainment.
