Intex launches new travelers' and students' notebook

Intex Technologies (India) Ltd today launched three new notebooks models-
Challenger 012CD, Performer 030CD and Achiever 026GD.

This venture aims to add more feature-rich, compact and technologically
advanced models in Intex's already existing notebook portfolio comprising of two
models-028GD and 029CD. A market leader in speakers/ subwoofers, cabinets,
keyboards, mouse and headphones, Intex intends to provide a diversified range of
value-for-money high quality notebooks to different kinds of users to enhance
their mobile computing experience.

Sanjay Kumar, product manager-PC, Intex Technologies (India) Ltd, said,
“Intex's notebook expansion is aimed to carve out a substantial share in the
booming notebook segment. The market has witnessed 168 per cent growth in unit
terms in 2005-06. The PC -Laptop sales gap has also reduced from 9:1 to 7:1. We
are optimistic about the performance of our new range embodying the current
trends in technology.”

Keeping in pace with the needs of 'executives-on-move', the Centrino based
Challenger 012CD is an apt product for frequent travelers and senior managers.
The 12” TFT display screen makes it compact and handy. The leading
technological features include Intel Pentium IV mobile CPU 1.6 GHZ, 533 fsb and
1 mb cache with Intel 915 gm chipset, 512 MB DDR-2 memory, 80 GB hard drive,
Intel Graphic engine and wireless card, inbuilt 4 in 1 card reader. It also has
parallel and serial port for gaming and multimedia devices. Other features
adding value to the convenience and entertainment factor include DVD combo TV
out, modem, inbuilt Gigabit LAN, infrared for fast data transfer and longer
battery life. Equipped with PCMCIA SLOT & Kensington lock, this notebook
weighs 1.9 Kg and has been priced at Rs 44,000 (street price).

Intex Performer 030CD notebook is another model in the new range with Intel
Centrino based technology. Designed for SOHO and SME segment, the notebook
weighs 2.5 Kg and presents the user a 15” display screen, 256 MB ddr-2 RAM, 40
GB hard drive, DVD combo, inbuilt Intel wireless card, Intel 915 chipset,
graphic engine, 3D stereo enhanced system with 5.1 channel output, inbuilt 4 in
1 card reader, type II PCMCIA slot and 14 I/O ports for different peripherals.
It has been made available in the market at a street price of Rs 35,000.

Intex Achiever 026GD notebook is a 15” model supported with Intel Celeron M
processor. It has 256 MB memory, 40 GB hard drive, DVD Combo, high definition
audio interface sound system, ethernet card on board and embedded 4 in 1 card
reader. With a street price of Rs 29,000, it has been introduced for fulfilling
the basic computing needs of students, educational institutes and other
customers in the 'price sensitive' genre.
