Intransa unveils IP7000 IP SAN solution

Intransa launched its IP7000 series - an IP storage area network (SAN) solution to support the demands of large scale enterprises. IP7500, available immediately, is the first offering in the new line of enterprise-class storage products built upon Intransa's IntraStor modular storage architecture and StorControl software. With this, enterprises now have a complementary alternative to fiber channel for their on-line and near-line secondary storage needs.

IP7500 is enterprise ready at a lesser cost than fiber channel offerings. It uses TCP/IP networking and standard ATA disk drives. The storage solution is pre-configured to accept 20 redundant Gig-E connections (40 without) and has a UPS and a management console for resiliency and ease of management. Its ideally suited for business critical online applications including digital media, video surveillance, data warehousing/data mining, and near-line storage. Industries using these applications include government agencies, and medium to large scale businesses. Other features are simplified product configuration, 24 TB that us expandable to 32 TB in the same rack. It also has a centralized management interface that consolidates resources.
