Iona appoints Sonata as national distributor

Iona Technologies, an e-business platform provider for Web services integration, has announced its alliance with Sonata Information Technology Limited (SITL). As the national distributor SITL will deliver Iona's solutions to companies in telecommunications, finance and manufacturing segments. It will manage a channel network consisting of premium partners, VARs and

SIs.

Commenting on this alliance, Mohan Muthuraj, Senior Business Manager, SITL says, "We will shortly identify VARs and resellers who would be roped in to resell Iona's flagship product across India." The company plans to organize seminars across the country.

SITL will incorporate Iona's Orbix E2A (End 2 Anywhere) Web service integration platform into its offerings to help telecommunications customers integrate switching systems, wireless systems, optical networks, VoIP offerings and DSL support systems. 

"Iona's integration experience across CORBA, J2EE and .NET domains provides a compelling integration platform, upon which companies like Sonata can layer their own domain expertise," says Kenneth L Schwarz, Iona Technologies Japan. Iona also claims to be in advance stages of talks with several leading telcos for implementing their Web service solutions.
