Iris Computers Pvt Ltd has been appointed as the fourth national distributor for HP storage products. HP has already forwarded the contract to Iris, which is expected to be signed by Sanjiv Krishen, Chairman, Iris, in the next couple of days.
Informing this Sanjiv said, "We are very proud to be associated with HP and they wanted us to be associated with them because we are one of the most flexible distributors to work with. The other three distributors viz, Redington, Tech Pacific and Ingram Micro are rather rigid and they take four to five days to log an order, whereas we do it in two hours time." He also added that Iris gives commissions to the dealers in 15 days flat whereas his counterparts take as long as two months to do the same.
According to Amit Malhotra, Business Manager (Nearline & NAS), network Storage Solutions, HP India, "We have appointed Iris because we want to extend our reach in the country. Although, we had Redington, Ingram and Tech Pac in our kitty, by appointing Iris we have ensured that we reach more partners and harness more growth in the tape automation and storage segment."
This move ensures that HP is becoming more aggressive in the storage business and Sanjiv is hopeful that his association with HP storage will be fruitful. "We are emerging as one of the most respected distributor in this country and today our way of doing business with the partners is an example for all the other distributors. We always make sure that we enhance our partners' profitability and this has been the key for our continuous growth process," Sanjiv pointed out.
