Iris Computers, a distribution company representing brands like IBM, Lenovo, HP, Compaq, Acer, and BenQ, announced that it will expand its channel presence across the country from existing 1,100 partners to 2,000 by the end of year 2006. Recently, Iris set up nine new offices, taking the count of its branch offices to 23.
Said Sanjiv Krishen, Chairman, Iris Computers, "The addition of Xenitis to our portfolio and an impetus on record sales that we have been generating for other brands incessantly over the years calls for such an expansion. This is in accordance of our aim to become Rs 500 crore company by the close of the current fiscal."
Kamini Talwar, Director of Iris Computers Limited agreed with him and added, "The recent tie-up with Xenitis brand for distributing their low-priced PCs nationally will add to our revenues for the year 2006-2007 in a big way. Xenitis has helped breaking the price barrier when it comes to mass adoption of IT by redefining the price points. We have identified 210 resellers across the country for Xenitis business and would soon be adding 20 more to the list to fulfill this requirement."
Iris Computers has received good response from some B- and C-class cities. In its first month of operation, it received orders worth Rs 1 crore from Jammu itself. "This is quite encouraging, considering the fact that Jammu is not rated as a big market when it comes to IT product distribution. Buoyed by this response we are planning to reach at least 10 new cities like Indore, Vijaywada etc., every year," adds Krishen.
