There is a lot of people churn happening at AMD India. Recently Haresh Bharia,
Director-Distribution and Sales, AMD India quit the company and last week the
company announced the appointment of Sandip Naik as Head-Channel Sales (India,
Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal).

Close on the heels of this development is the rumor that Alok Ohrie, MD, AMD
India is also moving on from the company. Ohrie had joined AMD in October 2006.
Prior to AMD, he worked with IBM Global Services India as Director-Systems and
Technology Group and then later as VP and Country Manager. His earlier stints
include senior management positions with Wipro Infotech and ESPL.

When contacted about his movement Ohrie said, “There are always a lot of
speculations about such things and as a company policy we do not comment on
them.”

Deepanshu Sharma, GM-Marketing and Strategy, when contacted about Ohrie's
movement said, “It is just a speculation and I am not at liberty to comment on
the same.”

The DQ Week spoke to several AMD partners to ascertain the reasons behind
Ohrie and Bharia's exit, but most of them seemed unaware of the development.
Many partners opined that Ohrie's move would not affect AMD's business and
technology outlook

Expressing his unease about the news Saket Kapur, MD, Green Vision said, “It
is quite shocking to see people at such high positions quitting AMD. The company
has been witnessing tough times since it took over ATI in 2006. AMD's products
are well positioned in the market in terms of its quality and reliability but
such developments might develop a negative notion about the company among its
partners.”
