Infotech Software Dealers Association (ISODA) is the IT association which is fully dedicated for the betterment of Software Resellers community in the country. ISODA was emerged in 2008 with an aim to unite packaged software resellers and fight the double taxation issue and other concerns pertaining to the packaged software Industry. Today, ISODA is premier association of companies with more than 160 members spread pan India, engaged in the business of selling and marketing licensed software and IT Services.

ISODA is committed to create a platform for software partners in the country and assist them in conducting their business smoothly. The association has been successful in voicing concerns with the government, vendors and distributors. ISODA voice and settle issues faced by the Software Resellers by becoming a single point of contact for discussion with various stakeholders in the IT industry. ISODA facilitates discussions between vendors, distributors, various government departments and TDAI for issues faced by Partners. ISODA regularly circulates updates on various common issues faced issues by its members. Now the association is in the process of defining the ready reference book involving legal matters, issues faced with government, vendors and distributors.

ISODA plays crucial role in creating and increasing awareness among members and customers about benefits of owning and selling original software. ISODA provides guidance on Tax and Legal Issues and also provides training and education on topics like Software Products and Licensing, Taxation and Compliance, Best Business Practices, Best Human Resource Practices etc.

Role in Taxation

ISODA was formed with the objective to raise voice against various irregularities in the taxation policies that adversely affects software resellers. Since its inception, ISODA has made several recommendations to the government to simplify taxation procedures for the benefit of the industry. ISODA represents to the Finance Ministry every year in pre-budget discussion where the association gives several vital recommendations to the department for budget and put forward all the necessary issues pertaining to IT software sector in various ways. The association was instrumental in removal of Multilevel TDS deductions from customers. It has approached number of government departments asking for formal clarification around the prevailing confusion in taxation policies. ISODA has written to State Sales & Service Tax Authorities. It has approached the Central Service Tax authority as well requesting for desire clarification around the subject. ISODA has joined hands with other established association in India like NASSCOM, BSA, MAIT etc to overcome the present challenges and is committed to work with them in future too.

ISODA organizes its flagship event “Tech Summit” where Vendors and ISODA members pan India re-new their relationships and forge new alliances and create an invaluable network of information sharing in the industry. The event provides a platform all IT members and vendors to contribute their idea, thoughts and suggestions for further growth of IT Sector and business.
