IT Secure named sole distributor of SpamStopsHere

IT Secure Software, providers of network security and network management solutions, has tied-up with US-based Greenview Data to distribute its spam filtering service called
SpamStopsHere.

Peter Theobald, CEO, IT Secure says, "Spam is a problem for all. Initially, we experimented with this service as a customer to solve our own spam problem and found it to be an excellent service which saves a lot of bandwidth, time and money."

Unlike other anti-spamming solutions, SpamStopsHere service is activated on the mail service provider's server and not on the user's machine and hence the customer gets only the filtered mail, saving precious Internet bandwidth.

SpamStopsHere uses databases of known spam and spammers to recognize spam with nearly absolute certainty. With six primary levels of filtering and databases updated every 10 minutes, this service blocks over 99%
spam.

"Most other anti-spam methods identify spam with key word filters or Real-Time Black Listing (RTBL) methods consisting of hundreds of complex rules. But all of these tend to be error-prone and can block even the legitimate emails along with spam," says Peter.

According to Peter, Greenview Data is a security conscious company with excellent 24x7 support. The service is available for a price of Rs 60 per month per mail box. Volume discounts are also available. A valid domain name is a must for customer to take up this service. IT Secure is also offering a 30-day trial of this service.

As of now the distribution arrangement is exclusive for IT Secure in India, this will be reviewed after six months based on the performance. IT Secure plans to sell the anti-spam service through its existing resellers network, which has been selling other international products distributed by IT Secures such as Sonicwall and Castlerock. "To start with we will be talking to about 13 resellers who have been doing business with us for quite sometime. About 40 other not-very-regular resellers also will be considered," adds Peter.
