Kothari Group consolidates operations

Chennai: Chennai-based telecom, data cabling and electrical & intelligent building management solutions distributor Kothari Group of Companies have consolidated their operations by forming a single company with the name of Kothari Electrical and Electronics.

Earlier the group had three different companies called Kothari Brothers, Industrial Enterprises and Kothari Cabletronics, where Industrial Enterprises was dealing with Telecom cables and Kothari Cabletronics was dealing with structured cabling solutions, both active and passive. Now all the three entities have been merged together and the group has floated Kothari Electrical and Electronics, which would be having three individual divisions dealing with telecom, data structure cabling and electrical &
intelligent building management solutions (IBMS).

“Kothari Brothers was incorporated in the year 1979 by LM Kothari for mainly focusing on the telecom and electrical cables. Then in 1981, the group floated Industrial Enterprises, which was particularly focusing on telecom cables only. Slowly the group opened branches in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and formed another company called Kothari Cabletronics, which was totally focusing on structured cabling solutions. Now we have consolidated all these companies into one so that it will enable the company to have complete range of cabling solutions,” informed TE Goverdhan, Head -- Sales Operations, Kothari Electrical and Electronics.

Being present in Benguluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, Kothari is dealing in the Kerala market through an appointed distributor. Now the company aims to mull a pan India presence by expanding its operations in Delhi and Kolkata within next six months. The group posted a turnover of Rs 40 crore during the last fiscal and is aiming for a growth of about 20-25 percent, Goverdhan informed.

The company also plans to implement SAP in the organization to have a better logistics. Claiming that the organization is known for the sound technical knowledge on the cabling solutions, Goverdhan said that the company has a team to especially take care of the trouble shooting operations as a value addition to the customers.

On the structured cabling front, the company has tie-ups with ADC Krone, Systimax, MRO-TEK, RAD, TVS Net, Cisco, Molex, AMP, Netgear; on thetTelecom (carrier) front, the company has tied up with ADC Krone, Delton Finolex and on the electrical and IBMS, it is associated with Polycab, Delton, Mivision, Sathyam cables, etc.
