Genius, brand name of Taiwan-based KYE Systems Corp., provider of products in IT and consumer electronics segment, plans to organize seminars and road shows in B- and C-class cities. It also announced the launch of retail-strategy and introduction of new products.
KYE Systems Country Manager (India), Sandeep Ramani said, “We are very bullish on the Indian market and are targeting 10% to 15% of the Indian peripherals and consumer electronics market by 2006 end. We expect revenue of $3 million to $3.5 million from India in 2006.”
As part of its retail strategy, Genius has forged alliance with a couple of big retails stores in India and plans to have 40 Genius retail stores in the metro and non-metros of India by the end of 2006.
Ramani said, "We will be setting up our retail presence in 40 outlets. In the first phase, we will launch 20 outlets, which will be functional from the April 1, 2006, in metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata. In the second phase, we will go for another 20 outlets to cover B- and C-class cities like Jaipur, Pune, etc. We also mulling opening of own brand shops in Q3 or Q4 of 2006."
Genius also announced the launch of a waterproof anti-bacteria multimedia keyboard - model name Genius SlimStar 310. Genius SlimStar 310 has been dipped in an anti-bacteria solution to prevent any type of hemorrhagic and staphylococcus aureus from occurring on the keyboard.
It has 14 one-touch hotkeys for media center control, Internet exploration freedom, office functions and instant messaging using MSN. According to the company, this keyboard is ideal for, marine applications, laboratories, chemical manufacture, cement works, fire services, hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
It is priced at Rs 1,750. Genius SlimStar 310 will be available at all branches of Transtek Infoways, the authorized distributor of Genius in India.
