Mumbai-based LanBit Networks has launched a range of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) products. The product range includes access point, PCI and PCMCIA adapters. MIMO means a technique of data transmission using multiple analog signal paths. It boosts wireless bandwidth and range by taking advantage of multiplexing. MIMO, as used by the expected 802.11n standard, will offer up to eight times the coverage, and up to six times the speed, of current Wi-Fi networks. In normal Wireless Networks, the main issue is the line of sight. If there is any obstacle between the transmitting and receiving station, it is difficult to establish the wireless connectivity. MIMO products use the latest OFDM technology.
