Lanner launches firewall solutions

Lanner Electronics, well known for its industrial PCs, has now decided to

foray into the security space with the launch of its firewall hardware and

solutions for the SME segment. These will come in the price bracket of Rs 20,000

to Rs 40,000. The products include a 19" rackmount firewall platform for

Tualatin and PIII CPUs as well as desktop compact firewall platforms.

Says P K Jain, MD, Lanner Electronics India, "Security is not just about

setting up devices to control unauthorized access. Total net security is a

growing market in the SME and SOHO segment." He adds that most security

companies today do not have complete, reliable and affordable platforms for his

customer segment."

Lanner is targeting solution providers to market its security products.

"Companies developing software on firewalls, encryption and gateway

applications as well as network integrators can bundle our firewall hardware

with the total solutions that they offer to customers."
