Lenovo expansion plans in top gear

With the objective to ensure a higher rate of penetration in the upcountry as
well as metro cities, Lenovo is modifying its channel structure and expanding
its service and support centers. The company is in the process of appointing
regional distributors across the country and is planning to increase its service
centers from 120 centers to 250 by the year end.

These plans were revealed during the launch of seven different ranges of
laptops, desktops and netbooks in the Indian market. Amar Babu, MD, Lenovo India
informed that Lenovo is aiming to touch a growth of three percent from Q1 to Q2.

Lenovo is also arranging training programs for the channel network and will
ensure that partners get good profit, commented Babu.

In Delhi, Lenovo has appointed Park Computers as one of its regional
distributor. For the last two years, Park Computers was the distributor of
Lenovo for Haryana region and now it has been elevated to RD of Delhi, replacing
Comnet Vision, who was earlier a distributor of Lenovo.

“As the trend is getting shifted from basic to lifestyle products, the demand
of the consumers has increased. Our relation with Lenovo has expanded and we are
now their regional distributors for Delhi. In AMJ quarter, we touched a scale of
700 units of Lenovo products,” informed Ajay Kumar, MD, Park Computers.

The regional distis of Lenovo in Delhi are Kopal Computers, San Infotech and
Park Computers.
