Lenovo launches S60 smartphone at Rs 12,999

Lenovo has added another smartphone to its S-series dubbed Lenovo S60 at a price of Rs 12,999 in India. The smartphone will be available on the company’s brand store as well as on e-commerce portals such as Flipkart and Amazon. The device will be available in a Graphite Grey variant.

In terms of specifications, the Lenovo S60 sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2GB RAM. It includes an inbuilt storage of 8GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The smartphone comes equipped with a 13MP rear auto-focus camera with LED flash and has a 5MP fixed-focus front facing camera. The camera also includes features such as scene detection, face recognition, low light enhancement, panorama, geo-tagging, burst shot, smile shot and HDR. The dual-SIM based smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Vibe 2.0 UI on top. The company states that the device will be upgraded to Android Lollipop soon but no time-frame has been announced.

In terms of connectivity, the device includes 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth 4.0. The Lenovo S60 comes with a 2,150mAh battery which offers up to 17 hours of talk time and up to 240 hours of standby time on 3G networks, as claimed by the company. It also packs in features such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and a magnetometer.
