Lexmark lures sales reps with LexRewards

Lexmark has started a new channel initiative called LexRewards with an objective to reward the sales
representatives of channel partners who are actually in direct contact with the customers. This program comes as a sequel to the "Lexmark Becho Aish Karo" program, which was run successfully in December 2003.

"The LexRewards is a transparent program that extends over a period of one year during which the sales personnel can accumulate points for his sales efforts," says Ng Chee Soon, MD, Lexmark
ASEAN/South Asia.

LexRewards is being introduced in three countries, namely India, Malaysia and Singapore.

It is a points-based program that will be tracked through the Internet. However, the Web-site is yet to go online. According to the company it is expected to be fully functional from the 1st of February, 2004. Till that time all tracking of point will be done offline.

Once the Web-site is functional, partner will be given a unique registered ID, through which he/she can track points he has won. The accumulated point can be exchanged for rewards like mobile phone, digital cameras and holidays.

Initially, around 75 channel partners from the Western and Southern regions are expected to be a part of this program. "As we go along with this initiative, we hope to see many more partners joining the LexRewards program," says
Chee.

Apart from the value proposition that our products provide to the end-user our focus has always been on strengthening our relationship with our channel partners," says PG Kamath General Manager, Lexmark International India.
