LG Electronics India has added the AMD Athlon-based Linux OS desktop--DM-134A--to its My PC series of computers. This comes in wake of the positive market response shown to the existing Intel-based My PCs running Linux.
The model comes with the AMD Athlon XP 2000, 128 MB DDR, a 40 GB HDD,52x CD ROM drive and modem. It is available in the mini tower model and is priced at Rs 27,500 (exclusive of taxes). The system comes along with Turbolinux as the OS.
This AMD-powered My PC will be largely targeted at the SOHO and low-priced corporate
segmen.
"This is the first AMD-based desktop to join our My PC range. Though these have been available for almost a month, we are officially launching it now," informs R Manikandan, DGM, IT Marketing, LG Electronics.
