LG Electronics India has opened the second LG Electronics Shoppe at West Patel Nagar, Delhi, through its franchise Micro
Max Technologies. There are plans of opening some 100-odd more exclusive LG shoppes by H1 of 2003, saysR
Manikandan, deputy general manager, sales and marketing (IT product). The LG Shoppe outlets are LG-only showrooms,
offering customers the entire range of LG IT products - the My PC range of Linux-based desktops, as well as
peripherals, including the just launched line of LG optical mice.
The franchise partner of the just opened show room, Micro Max, is also the regional distributor of LG for Delhi, UP and
Uttaranchal. Their relationship with LG dates back since 1997. Rajesh Agarwal, director, Micro Max informed
that value-wise, he is expecting a business volume of Rs one crore from the 450 square foot outlet every month, to begin with.
By JFM, LG is also planning two more such Shoppes in Meerut and Dehradun. The outlets would, however, not double up as
service centers. "We are into servicing of IT products also, we service HP, and we will revamp same to
include LG in the kitty."
