Linksys has rolled out its compact Wireless-G broadband router (WRT54GC). It
provides home and mobile users with the flexibility, to provide both seamless
wireless access and connectivity for wired Ethernet devices in a small compact
design.
The router is three devices in one; a wireless access point that enables
users to connect via Wireless-G (802.11g) or Wireless-B (802.11b); a built in
4-port full-duplex 10/100 switch to connect wired Ethernet devices to the
network. The third is a router, which allows users to securely share a network
with high-
speed cable or DSL Internet connection.
The new router comes with a built-in antenna. Users can increase the router's
wireless range by connecting an optional high gain antenna (Linksys High Gain
Antenna for SMA Connectors - HGA7S), to the included pop-up SMA connector.
The Wireless-G broadband Router shares a single Internet connection and other
resources with wired and wireless-802.11b and 802.11g devices. It features Wi-Fi
protected access (WPA/WPA2 Personal), wireless MAC address filtering, SPI
firewall and supports VPN pass through SMA connector for adding an external
antenna for users who want to increase their range.
The
compact Wireless-G broadband router (WRT54GC) is immediately available through
major distributors, value-added resellers and business solution providers.
Estimated street price of the product is $79.99.
