Logitech has appointed Savex Computers as its exclusive distributor for a new
range of speakers that it is going to launch on Monday, September 12, 2005.
While, the existing range of its speakers- the Z series will continue to be
distributed by Ingram as well as Savex.
The vendor is set to launch two ranges of speakers-the S series and X series
of speakers-for PCs, CDs and MP3 players. "Three models in the S range -
S100, S200 and S500 are being launched; while in the X series two models - X230
and X530 - are being unveiled," informed Moninder Jain, Country Manager,
Logitech Electronics India.
He added that the reason behind introducing these speakers is that there
was a void in the entry-level audio market, which it wanted to fill and also
cater to the mid-market. "We already had speakers for high-end verticals
and also the M series for mid market. These new additions will target the
entire home segment and entry-level users as they are also affordably
priced," commented Moninder.

Another initiative, which Logitech has taken to extensively take its
cordless optical mice and cordless desktops (including keyboards and mice) to
customers, is that it has come up with a 'Logitech van'. This van will
showcase the above mentioned products, as the company wants the visibility of
these products to increase.
Another purpose the van will fulfill is that it will educate customers
about the benefits of cordless products. They are having a clutter-free desk,
aesthetics, healthy back and better care of eyes.
The vehicle will go to 11 cities of India and covered Ahmedabad as the
first one. Other cities that will be covered are New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai,
Indore, Pune, Jaipur and other A- and B- class cities. Jaipur is the next city
that will be covered and subsequently Ludhiana will have the Logitech van in
the city. Chandigarh, Gurgaon and Lucknow too are on the vendor's list to
spread awareness through the vehicle.
"Our focus on these products has grown and in just one quarter, the
sale of cordless desktops has doubled, while that of cordless mice has
tripled. By March 2006, we want the growth of both products to double its
present figures," commented Moninder. The company hopes to create a
greater customer pull with the Logitech van.
