MAIT has teamed up with HP, Canon, Epson, Logitech and Intel to form the IT Anti-Counterfeit Coalition (ISAAC) to combat the Indian hardware counterfeiting market. This alliance will work closely with the industry and the government to curb counterfeiting of products. It will also undertake special initiatives for judicial and enforcement authorities to ensure awareness against counterfeiting in the country.
ISAAC will conduct regular training workshops, seminars and interactive sessions involving judicial and enforcement authorities. It will also lobby with the government to facilitate regulations that assist anti-counterfeiting and to change the existing legal framework.
This committee will focus on core issues on which, the government needs to act upon. It will also initiate state governments to work towards making their state piracy-free.
