EMC Corporation announced that Manoj Chugh will head its sales operations for India and SAARC. He will be responsible for driving EMC's business in the region helping customers from small.
companies to large enterprises leverage information assets using automated networked storage solutions. Previously at Cisco Systems, where he was responsible for driving Cisco's revenue and growth in India & Saarc region (excluding Pakistan). Manoj is based in Delhi, and will report to Steve Coad, EMC's GM for South Asia.
Coad said, "There is huge growth potential for automated network storage solutions in this region and I am very confident in Manoj, who has spent over two decades leading IT companies to number one positions in their space. He has the ability to drive our storage business successfully,
particularly through our partners. I am positive that he will further strengthen our position in the market by bringing his leadership and extensive experience from Cisco Systems and Scientific-Atlanta, Inc to bear on EMC's sales operations in India."
Commented Manoj, "The IT industry is entering the era in which storage is one of the fastest growing IT segments. In India, SAN and NAS CAGR in terms of revenue is expected to grow by 36% and 34% respectively from 2002 to 2007. I believe that companies in India will stand to gain tremendously in being able to better leverage their information assets and turn them from mere
repositories to living knowledge for faster and more effective decision making."
While EMC's India and SAARC sales operations will be centered in Delhi, the branch offices in Bangalore and Mumbai will continue to operate. EMC also remains committed to its investment in its Software Development Center in Bangalore, where it will continue to be based, and is headed by Nagendra
Satyan.
During a three-year tenure at Cisco Systems, Manoj more than tripled revenues and positioned Cisco as a market leader across diverse verticals in the networking space. Prior to Cisco Systems, Manoj set up the operations of Scientific-Atlanta, Inc in India, and grew the business to achieve a position of leadership in the DAMA VSAT market in the country .
