Akio Uematsu, MD, Maxell Asia said, “We manufacture computer tapes not only under the Maxell brand, but also for our OEM partners. In this domain we have a high marketshare world wide, but in India our base is not so strong. We found there are good opportunities to promote our sales here, for which we need good partners to push our products. This is where we expect Rashi to help us.”

At present Maxell is popularizing its three product lines-watch batteries, computer tapes and professional videotapes for the Indian market. Uematsu said, “We are tapping professionals in these three fields. We know that big giants are previously made a landmark achievement in Indian market, but our focused area is on corporate, B2B market. We are approaching TV production hub for our professional videotapes.”

According to Maxell officials a potential market vacuum is available in India and the company will explore the market by tying up with some of the major players in the domain.
