Solectron will manage the RMA facilities while Exel will manage logistics. Both service partners have been given extensive training by Maxtor to manage the Indian RMA facilities.

Set up under the Maxtor MaxServices support program, the centers are based at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi and two locations in Mumbai. An additional RMA facility is scheduled to open in Kolkata in mid-2004. Says Yogesh Kamat, Sales Manager, Maxtor India, "We will review the performance of these facilities on a periodic basis and gauge the requirement for setting up more centers in the country."

The MaxServices program provides customers with a rapid return and replacement period of six working days, if stock is available. If stock is not available, the replacement period is around 12 days. "In addition, customers in India will now be able to send in warranty drives to designated RMA centers for rapid replacement," informs
Yogesh.
