McAfee Inc has launched Anti-Spyware Enterprise, which uses pro-active on-access scanning to identify and safely eliminate potentially unwanted programs such as

spyware, adware, dialers, keyloggers, cookies and remote-control programs. The solution is easily deployed, controlled and monitored with centralized management tools. They are designed specifically for the unique requirements of small-to-medium businesses or large distributed enterprises. The solution is backed by Avert, an anti-virus and vulnerability research organization that offers comprehensive

anti-spyware protection focused on today's top security threats.

McAfee Anti-Spyware Enterprise integrates seamlessly with VirusScan Enterprise 7.1 and 8.0i, adding an essential layer of protection for small to large businesses that need proactive protection from

spyware. The solution utilizes on-access scanning to identify, proactively block and safely eliminate potentially unwanted programs before they can install on the computer system. It scans hard drives, memory, Windows registry and other areas where programs can leave remnants offers traditional on-demand scanning using an extensive database of potentially unwanted programs. The programs include cookies for immediate detection. Removal is managed centrally under a single console with McAfee ePO and

ProtectionPilot. This gives IT and security administrators the visibility and control they need to configure their system security policy, evaluate their security status and customize reports to fit their specific needs.

"In 2003, Gartner warned clients that spyware would be the next wave of costly attacks against PCs and spyware did hit in a big way in 2004," said John

Pescatore, analyst with Garter Inc.

With a single management infrastructure, IT and security administrators will save time and money through reduced deployment and training costs, reduced hardware investments and reduced policy redundancy."

McAfee Anti-Spyware Enterprise also provides channel partners with a robust solution to help their existing customers solve the issue of potentially unwanted programs, as well as new customers who desire increased protection from
