Meerut Cantonment Board (MCB) is making plans on upgrading and modernizing its schools. The MCB right now has three elementary schools, one public school and one intermediate college, where approximately 3000 students study. The MCB arrangements to introduce electronic sheets, TV screens, biometric participation component, projectors, sound video frameworks and cameras in every one of these organizations. The proposal has been prepared and is awaiting approval by the board.

“All the schools will be upgraded in keeping with the changing technology. Often, people think of government schools as institutions where teachers are absent, quality of teaching is bad and the results are bad. We want to change that image. We want to provide the best education to our students. Most of the students in our schools are from economically weaker backgrounds and cannot afford private schools. We want to be able to provide them the best facilities, even better than private schools,” said M.A. Zafar, Media Officer, MCB.

The MCB is confident that its endeavors will give better education to the students and make the teachers more responsible. “With smart classes and e-classes, we will make the best content available to the students. We are also planning on installing projectors. More computers will be added in the computer labs. Cameras will be made available in schools for various activities and to train students. We will also install biometric attendance mechanism, which will be monitored centrally to make the teachers more accountable,” Zafar added.
