MGE signs up APW for racks and accessories

In a bid to strengthen its foothold in India, MGE Office Protection Systems
has recently tied up with APW for racks and accessories. With this tie-up, the
company will be selling APW racks along with their UPS systems.

The company forayed into the Indian market six months ago, and appointed
Mumbai-based Lipi Data Systems as its distributor. It is now planning to sign
around 2,000 channel partners to push its products, which include single-phase
UPS and surge suppression products.

Talking about this tie-up Rahul Sikka, Area Sales Director-ME, Central Asia
and SAARC, MGE Office Protection Systems said, “In addition to selling our
products, we also wanted that the end-users be given the best of the services,
and since LIPI has more than 100 branch offices and 60,000 satisfied
installations across India, we appointed them as our national distributor.”

He further elaborated that awareness about power products was not very high
in India. “India as a market is a huge challenge and thus, we will have to work
to educate the customers more about the features and offerings we have in
store,” opined Sikka.

MGE Office Protection Systems is a French company and has recently been
acquired by Eaton Corp. With this acquisition, Eaton has become the world's
second largest manufacturer and supplier of single-phase UPS systems. The
company already has a plant in the country, which is located at Baddi, Himachal
Pradesh.
