"Nine of our Indian partners are already working with us to drive applications on Yukon. We will releas the public beta for the product by January-end. However, the final release of this product would be sometime in October 2004," informs Microsoft's Product Marketing Manager Tarun
Malik.

Developed at Microsoft's Redmond based facility, the product is already being used by five of the company's most valued customers worldwide. "This product will drive data in data warehousing and business intelligence (BI). At present Yukon is being used by two US-based customers, two European customers and one Asian customer. We are quite positive about their response and we are sure that the product will drive the market to new heights," he adds.

Emphasizing the importance of mid-tier market for BI, Malik says that this market is increasingly becoming significant and Microsoft as a company will be focussing heavily to address this segment. "We already have 20 independent software vendors catering to the mid-tier market segment. We will increase this figure as the market expands," he explains.
