Millenium sets up manufacturing base in Jammu

Millenium Automation and Systems Ltd, a complete hardware and software services provider has announced that it will set up a manufacturing capability in Jammu. This 14,000 square feet facility is expected to be fully functional by December 15, 2003 and will produce 3,500 Samsung certified desktops and 60 to 70 laptops monthly.

The company already has a manufacturing unit at Mohali, Punjab with a production capacity of 300 units a month. "Since a long time we have been scouting for another manufacturing facility, which can deliver price-effective manufacturing for quality products,” says Virender Singh Jawanda, MD, Millenium Automation and Systems Ltd. 

Elaborating on the state government benefits for this Jammu unit, Virender informs, "We are getting a multi-fold advantage in this facility. The local government has promised heavy subsidies on products manufactured in this facility.”The state
government has also sponsored the insurance of this factory and ensures a good security umbrella. 

The total effect on the pricing of products with these benefits will be in the range of 8% to 10%. "We plan to launch a P-IV 2.4 GHz desktop between Rs 24,000 to Rs 25,000. This desktop will be certified by Samsung and will constitute 60% of its products."
