CANOPY

Targeting wireless ISPs and enterprises as potential customers to facilitate high-speed Internet connectivity through Canopy broadband solutions

"Canopy systems have been deployed in more than 85 countries around the
world. The Wi-Fi band has just been unlicensed in India now and this has
prompted us to launch this over here. We will be selling the Canopy solution to
carriers through our network account teams, to universities, schools and the
government sector through our government and enterprise mobility solution
dealers. In addition to this, we are also targeting the wireless ISPs and
enterprises as our potential customers for this," explained Motorola Inc
International Sales Director, Dennis Stipati.

Operating within the recently unlicensed spectrum band of 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz,
the Canopy solution is an always-on broadband solution and the company is
already engaged with some telecom operators to test the product with their
networks.

"There is one big operator that is testing the solution. Once the
testing phase is over, the operator is likely to roll out this technology but I
would not be able to put a date on this," informed Motorola—Canopy
Wireless Broadband Products Asia Pacific Regional Channel Manager, Avinash
Bector.
