In a bid to acknowledge their resellers, Microsoft initiated a program called
Reach Enabling Reseller (RER) program. In the North region, they have appointed
Delhi-based Aditi Computers (ACPL) to lead the initiative, which commenced on
March 6, 2008. RER is basically a sub-distribution initiative that will be run
in Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Rajasthan for Microsoft's SMB
customers. The software vendor has identified partners for every region to
maximize their reach across the country and will announce the names of the
partners at a later stage.
Talking about the initiative, RK Singh, CEO, ACPL stated, "This
initiative is a paper licensing program which is focused on the SMB segment.
Earlier, the vendor did not know the reseller or the partner, who placed an
order with Microsoft since the orders were routed through the distributor. With
this initiative Microsoft will be able to recognize the needs of other partners
as well."
In order to achieve the objective ACPL will be running a special Rebate
Program (tier-3 program) for partners who are interested in placing orders
through the company. However, this tier-3 program is open only for those
partners who have not signed any other rebate agreement with Microsoft.
In addition to rebates, ACPL would be offering other advantage to their
existing partners in terms of promotional offers and increased visibility. The
company will also provide technical support, product information and post-sales
service support to its partners.
Singh further added, "This new initiative will help us expand our
business in terms of revenue and profitability. Besides, we are also looking to
engage newer sets of partners."
ACPL at present has close to 300 to 350 partners out of which 150 sell
licenses. That apart the company is also looking to set-up its branch office in
areas such as Chandigarh and Rajasthan in order to expand its reach.
