Systems integrators in the suburbs of Mumbai are facing problems in getting
their Samsung hard disks repaired at the service center based in the city. The
problem aggravated after Samsung closed one of its authorized service centers
being operated by Accel ICIM at Andheri (East).
Now the only authorized service center operating in Mumbai for Samsung hard
disk repairs is Digicom at Grant Road, which is at the south of Mumbai.
SIs having business in the suburbs of Mumbai especially beyond Andheri, have
expressed discomfort in dealing with Samsung hard disks due to this problem.
"An entire day is lost in the delivery and replacement process," say
SIs of recently-formed group SIVA (Systems Integrators Voluntary Association).
Recently, a group of SIs represented this problem to Samsung through SIVA.
"We have got a favorable response from Naraish Razdan, Country Support
manager of Samsung," says Nikhil Morge, member, SIVA.

Nikhil explains that a single visit to Digicom takes almost five hours, which
includes commuting time. And by the time the work is done we have lost 3-4 days.
"Because of this we are having problems convincing our customers about the
delay," says Nikhil.
In his reply, Naraish promises that Samsung will look in to the request in a
favorable way. However, Naraish reveals that the actual implementation may take
some time.
"Samsung is a channel-friendly organization and suggestions pertaining
to improving the customer satisfaction are always welcome," adds Naraish.
