Sunil Sharma of NSB Systems has
disappeared after defrauding Nehru Place resellers to the tune of Rs 35 lakh.
This has come as a shock to all, as Sunil had been a part of the trading
community for nearly five years now. He has reportedly duped nearly 30 traders
with varying amounts.
The traders got together in an
effort to trace Sunil's roots and even went all the way to Bulandshaher, his
place of residence only to be met his old farmer father, who had no inkling of
his son’s whereabouts. The traders then traced Sharma’s in-laws and maternal
uncle in Delhi. However, Sunil has so far remained untraceable.
It all started in March this
year, when Sunil tried to get his credit limit increased with almost all
traders. With an immaculate credit record that Sunil had, not a single trader in
the market smelt a rat. "None of his cheques had ever bounced and he always
honored his commitments," said Shyam Modi of Modi Peripherals. The truth of
the matter finally dawned when cheques started to bounce repeatedly.
Investigations revealed that Sharma was nowhere to be found having vacated both
his residential and commercial premises.
Traders alleged police inaction
in the entire episode and said that to get a FIR lodged also took as much as
three to four days. While the exact amount is still not known as more and more
traders are coming out with their figures, estimates by informed traders put the
figure at nearly Rs 35 lakh. Those defrauded include Modi Peripherals, Vidur and
Company, Comnet Vision, Park Computers, Citi Solutions, MicroMax, Fortune
Marketing, Elcon, BrainPower and Pilse Systems among others. The list is
lengthening with each passing day.
