Lexar Media has appointed Mumbai-based Neoteric Informa-tique as the sole
national distributor for Lexar media cards. Lexar is a leading manufacturer of
removable flash memory cards, USB flash drives, card readers and ATA controller
technology solutions for the digital photography, consumer electronics,
industrial and communications markets.
"Neoteric's tie-up with Lexar Media gives us an entry in to a new
products line which is growing in a big way due to the growth of its associated
products like digital cameras and multi-media mobile phones. Besides, we have
excellent products known for their quality and speed," said Uday Khendhe,
Product Manager, Neoteric.
Neoteric will carry the entire range of Lexar media cards with capacities
ranging from the lowest 64 MB to 8 GB.
To promote these cards aggressively in the market, the company is running
region specific schemes for channels. These schemes attract incentives in the
form of free bees like cameras and local holiday tours, on achieving the given
targets.
According to the company, leading digital camera manufacturers like Canon,
Casio, Konica, Minolta, Nikon, and Pentax have chosen to bundle Lexar digital
film with their cameras for its performance, reliability and value worldwide.
As a digital storage innovator, Lexar was the first to develop and advance
proprietary read-write speed standards for its CompactFlash cards, and holds
over 70 controller patents.
Lexar consumer products are sold in the US, Europe and Asia/Pacific through
consumer electronics retailers, mass-merchandisers and photo specialty stores.
Neoteric plans to sell these cards through three different channels. These
include photography channel, the IT channels and the mobile handset channels.
Through technology licensing and controller sales agreements with key
manufacturing partners, Lexar also capitalizes on the growing use of digital
media in adjacent markets spanning a range of consumer, industrial and
telecommunications applications.
Neoteric is one of the fastest growing distributors in India with
distribution rights of over 13 brands in India. It was ranked #8 in the DQCI
Silver Club for 2003-04.
