After serving about two years as the MD for India and SAARC region of Network Appliance Systems India, Anal Jain has quit the company. According to the company sources, Michael Burnie, MD, South Asia Pacific, will head the Indian operations in the interim, till a new MD is appointed. “We appreciate his contributions and respect his decision to leave the company,” says the company’s spokesperson.
While market sources say that Anal resigned from NetApp to start his own company, Anal maintains that his decision to quit was purely personal. Nonetheless, he states his willingness to remain active in the IT industry in coming days.
To his credits, Anal has built a strong team and a solid foundation for the business during his tenure at NetApp. Besides this, he had set a target of 100% growth for the company in India, during this fiscal, to make it the second biggest storage company.
Over the next couple of years, NetApp plans to provide enterprise storage solutions to niche verticals like e-business establishments, technical sectors and medium to large enterprises. It wants to establish itself as a premier company providing storage solutions on a scalable and unique platform in newer markets.
