NETGEAR ReadyNAS achieves VMware Ready certification

has recently announced that its
entire ReadyNAS family of high has achieved VMware Ready Status. Both
desktop and rack-mount ReadyNAS for Business products, including the
recently announced ReadyNAS 3100 and ReadyNAS 4200, have all passed
VMware testing for the NFS and now the iSCSI protocols.

“Server virtualization projects
require network storage to give business customers dramatic
improvements in hardware efficiency, cost savings and scalability.
With the VMware certification, customers can confidently deploy the
entire ReadyNAS family of business-class, high-performance unified
network storage devices with the VMware platform to enable server
consolidation and IT cost savings,” said Atul Jain, Country

“The VMware Ready designation
signifies to customers that the products have passed detailed VMware
testing, met stringent interoperability criteria, and are ready to
run in production environments. We are delighted that NETGEAR's
ReadyNAS solutions now carry the VMware Ready logo,” said Parag

“The VMware Ready logo indicates that
the ReadyNAS products have gone through AppLabs evaluation process,”
said Alex Whittaker, Assistant VP-Quality Assurance Services,
AppLabs.

Server virtualization projects require

Business class ReadyNAS products
include form factors to fit any budget or location. The desktop NVX
(4-bay) and Pro (6-bay) are ideal for smaller firms or remote
offices/branch offices with the tightest budget constraints or
moderate availability requirements. The rack-mount ReadyNAS family
includes 1U 4-bay models (the 2100 and 3100), as well as 2U 12-bay
models (the 3200 and 4200). All models include a unified (NAS and
iSCSI) storage architecture, secure replication, an offsite archive
option, and yield highest performance and reliability metrics in
their class.
