New Whatsapp Features - How Popular will they Become?

Whatsapp is working to include video calling facility, zip file sharing and many more features in its app.

iPhone users may be able to get missed call notification. This will be an extra new Whatsapp feature in iPhone, though it may get integrated in Android at a later stage as well.

Whatsapp is also planning to introduce voicemail for missed calls. however, it's not clear yet if this will be for a limited group or for everyone.

These new Whatsapp features are hoped to increase the usage of Whatsapp over other platforms.

It is to be noted that Facebook and Skype already have these features and are quite user friendly in that they can be accessed on phone as well as on a computer. Whatsapp being a primarily phone app, may not be as easy to use in terms of these features, especially sharing and video calling facilities. Hence, these new Whatsapp features may not ultimately become more popular than Whasapp messaging.

Since it's much easier to leave a whatsapp message, there may not be much use for voicemail. In fact, most people use whatsapp for messaging and for sending pictures across the messaging service.

Because of this, it remains to be seen how popular will be the new whatsapp features.
