Delhi based
Elcom Trading has built for itself an enviable reputation in the
market place. It has consistently focused on crafting a robust retail
and sub-distribution business model and posted a topline of `130
crore in FY11, registering more than 25% growth over the previous
year's turnover. While 99% of the revenue came from
sub-distribution, the remaining 10% came from a combination of
retail, system building, SMB, and corporate sales.
Last fiscal the
company grew on the back of 3 main reasons-addition of new PC
brands, further expansion into the UP market, and growth in the
retail business. Elcom signed up with Lenovo as the exclusive
distributor for SMB vertical in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Faridabad;
IBM for Intel based servers, and added Acer consumer notebooks to the
portfolio. Presently, Elcom has 3 branches in Delhi, one in Noida and
Gurgaon. The company added HP consumer range of mini notebooks and
consumer notebooks this year. But dropped Dell from its portfolio.
Now the company is cautious in offering credit to its resellers.
