NIELIT holds e-governance workshop in Kohima

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima organized a two-day sensitization workshop on e-governance for the middle level officers in at the DC Conference Hall, Kohima on May 5.

The workshop was as collaborative undertaking comprising of the Department of Information Technology and Communications, Government of Nagaland and the Department of Electronics & IT, Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India.

According to reports, the ongoing series of related sensitization workshops for all districts, the first phase set to run from April 29 till May 9 has already covered Mokokchung district and Wokha district from April 29 to May 2with the delivery of intended results.

The worhshop witnesses' commendable turnout of officials and participation of the Deputy Commissioner, W. Honje Konyak who ardently offered inputs of encouragement, support and feasible suggestions, to be integrated into all undertakings linked to e-Governance.

The resource persons are Rita Arora, director of NIELIT, Delhi, Partha P Adhikari, deputy director (e-Gov), NIELIT, Delhi and Er. Chura Katiry, program officer of the Department of IT & C, Government of Nagaland.

 

Director of NIELIT, Kohima, Er. L. Lanuwabang delivered the keynote address during the introductory session. He apprised all attendees of the objective of encompassing the training of 2280 ST youths in the certificate course of IT & e-Gov applications besides training middle level state officers and NGOS, and sensitizing all senior state level officials on the cardinal aspects of e-Governance and tactics for efficiently running such a system (within the project duration of 2 years).

The positive outcome of the previous workshops in Mokokchung and Wokha was also re-emphasized. Meanwhile, Partha P Adhikari highlighted the focal points and the expected outcomes of the workshop.
