"Nivio's commitment to launch in India, is definitely a draw for us and
in return for our investment in R&D we also get to support a service that
fits perfectly into our continued aim of extending the breadth of access to the
Internet," said Alok Ohrie, VP and MD, AMD India.
Sachin Duggal, CEO, Nivio, said, "The technology expertise this
collaboration brings, will enable us to continue towards our aim of launching
the service over the coming months. We've already received significant positive
feedback following the private beta."
The Nivio service has been in development for the past 18 months and is
currently in private beta testing mode. It aims to evolve the computing
experience by hosting a users Windows desktop, making it available through any
Internet connected device.
The user can download the most up to date software for use anywhere at
anytime without having to upgrade their PC and can even sync with their own
desktop. The service is shortly set to launch in both the UK and India.
