Nokia has appointed Rajeev Suri as the new CEO of the company stating that it would return an extra 1 billion euros to shareholders from the sale of its phone unit. Till the recent development, Suri led Nokia Solutions and Networks.
Suri joined Nokia in 1995 and has held a wide range of leadership positions in the company. Since October 2009 he served as CEO of NSN. He is a graduate from the Manipal Institute of Technology and will take over as Nokia CEO on May 1.
Under his leadership the business went through sea change to become a leader in telecommunications infrastructure industry. Risto Siilasmaa, who has been serving as the interim CEO, will now return to his role as Chairman of Nokia's Board.
