Novell launches enhanced Global PartnerNet program

Novell introduced its comprehensive PartnerNet program. It will enable
unified, effective synergies between the company's global solutions, technology
and training partner relationships. Novell will integrate the existing Indian
partners into the new partner program.

The program will have three mutually reinforcing tracks that will create a
unified, comprehensive and strong ecosystem of partners nationally. The first is
for solutions providers. It includes value-added resellers, distributors,
channel partners, consultants and system integrators who help take Novell/SUSE
Linux solutions to market and provide business and technology services to
clients.

The second is for technology partners, and includes ISVs and IHVs who own,
develop, distribute and support commercially available applications and hardware
that support or integrate with Novell/SUSE LINUX technology.

The third is for training partners. Under this, academic and commercial
education specialists who deliver online and classroom training to support
Novell technologies and Novell certifications, including SUSE Linux training and
certifications are included.

The Global PartnerNet program will incorporate SUSE Linux partners, including
its extensive hardware partner network thereby providing Novell's partners
important go-to-market capabilities and expanded Linux-based offerings. As part
of enhancements in the PartnerNet program, Novell will offer five
specializations for those partners who wish to develop and promote functional
expertise.

These specializations, which mirror Novell's main solutions offerings, will
be Linux: Expertise on the SUSE Linux platform and related infrastructure pieces
like storage, clustering and cross-platform management. Identity and access
management, resource management, web services, workgroup and collaboration

“The technologies, support and services that partners bring to our joint
customers complement and complete Novell solutions,” said David Lenz, Director
Sales and Marketing, Novell Asia Pacific. The program will enable deployment of
Novell and partner solutions to meet business challenges and ensure greater
opportunities for partners to work together for mutual benefit.

Novell PartnerNet program will include solution, technology and training
partners under unified PartnerNet Program. The new Linux offerings, including
partner solutions, provide new sales opportunities for new and existing ISVs,
IHVs and solutions provider partners.
