O2 brings PDA mobile phones to India

O2 entered the Indian subcontinent by launching its first PDA mobile--O2 Xda II--at Rs 35,999. “India is a high potential market with a niche segment of people requiring high-end phones,” commented Christina Teo, VP, Asia on O2's entry in India. She also added that they are seeing an uptake in of converged devices combining computing power and phone capabilities.

O2 Xda is equipped with Microsoft's integrated Windows mobile operating system and applications such as Pocket Word, Excel and Powerpoint. It also has a high-quality full screen built-in digital camera/video, triband functionality, full Internet browsing, multimedia messaging, and Bluetooth connectivity. The PDA runs on an Intel PXA 263 processor at 400 Mhz and has a memory of 128 MB.
