Online party for Mi fans

Mi Fan Festival (#MiFanFest) has arrived. As announced last week by Xiaomi CEO and founder Lei Jun, Mi Fan Festival 2015 will be held on April 8 to celebrate its 5th birthday and thank its fans for bringing Xiaomi this far.

Mi Fan Festival (#MiFanFest) has arrived. As announced last week by Xiaomi CEO and founder Lei Jun, Mi Fan Festival 2015 will be held on April 8 to celebrate its 5th birthday and thank its fans for bringing Xiaomi this far.

It has been a truly exciting journey for Mi India so far. In just 5 months since its launch, Xiaomi became the 5th largest smartphone vendor in the Indian market with a 4% market share in Q4 2014 (according to IDC). Mi Fan Festival 2015 is Mi India’s way of showing its appreciation to all its Indian fans.

Hugo Barra, VP, Xiaomi Global, said: “Mi Fan Festival is a huge online party that we throw every year to bring Mi fans together all around the world for a day of non-stop celebration — it's our way of thanking our fans for their huge support. We're super thrilled to have Mi India joining the party this year and look forward to spending many more birthdays together!"

Mi India has also announced two new partnerships with Snapdeal and Amazon.With the new partnerships, customers in India can now purchase Mi products across all major online market-places in India: Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon.

Manu Jain, head of India operations, Mi India, said: “We are glad to give Mi fans more options to purchase Mi products. We are truly excited to be working with a variety of partners and expect these partnerships to be super successful.”

Mi Stores will be created on Snapdeal and Amazon, where customers can choose from a range of Mi phones and accessories. In addition, Mi products are also available in offline retail channels through Airtel and The Mobile Store.
